About Me

My Experience

I graduated in 2021 from the University of Birmingham with a Master's degree in Computer Science. Since then I have been working as a software developer, mainly in web development. I have used technologies such as React, Javascript, HTML/CSS, C#, and Python

Alongside software development, I have tutored through a website called My Tutor. I tutored KS3 and GCSE Mathematics and made use of the online whiteboard space provided, as well as creating fun diagrams and slide shows to help explain concepts. Before starting tutoring, we can schedule a free 15-minute introductory session where we can get to know each other better and discuss your tutoring goals.

My Lessons

Before starting tutoring, I provide a free 15-minute introductory session where we can get to know each other better and discuss your tutoring goals. Currently I offer online tuition anywhere in the UK, and in-person tuition in the Warwick and Leamington Spa area. In-person tuition could take place in the student's home, or in a public space such as a library.

I like to tailor my classes to the student. For example, if my student is a visual learner I might use more slide show presentations and diagrams. I always like to be prepared for each session and frequently ask for feedback to make sure that students are learning, covering topics they feel they need help on, and last but not least are enjoying the sessions.

To conduct my online sessions, I will use an online video chat such as Zoom. I will also make use of collaborative programming tools, such as VS Code Live Share, and online whiteboard spaces. I am always looking for new tools to make my lessons fun and accessible.

Neurodivergent Diagnosis

I have recently found out that I am neurodivergent (Autistic and ADHD), and it has been a life-changing discovery. I learned that my brain works differently and that I am amazing just the way I am. Being neurodivergent isn’t always easy, but it comes with strengths too; I am patient, reliable, and detail-oriented - I know I have the skills and empathy to be a great tutor.

I believe that I would be a particularly great fit for a neurodivergent tutee, as I realize that everyone learns in different ways. If my student doesn't understand something one way, I will work with them to find a learning style that matches their needs. Everyone deserves to learn and reach their full potential, and to feel confident in themselves and their abilities.
